Kingscourt Learn Resource is a specialist learning centre for children with ADHD, SpLD(dyslexia, dyscalculia etc), Mild Cerebral palsy, Autism and other general Learning challenges that hinders the individual from assessing the school curriculum.
We are a registered centre to support pupils with Learning challenges and we are staffed with specialists, fully qualified and experienced special needs teachers.

Our Aim
We aim to restore self confidence and self reliance by improving spelling, writing, comprehension, numerical skills, reasoning and thinking skills, Memory and organisational skills.
This we do through assessments; to ascertain learning needs, provision; of appropriate resources & strategies and intensive educational interventions; to support the child's learning, raising attainment and improving self esteem.
Enrollment
An initial consultation is provided to ascertain pupil's need through the use of assessment test kits or a referral to our Educational Psychologist. This will facilitate the planning of an individual, multi-sensory, education programme.
Our Services
We offer a range of services relating to Special Education needs from initial assessments through to one to one or small group tuition and therapy programmes.
Assessment:
Diagnostic assessment by a Specialist Teacher
This assessment requires attendance at one session for approximately 2½ hours. It will examine reading, spelling, phonological awareness, processing speed, short term and working memory, speed of writing and a test of general ability (intelligence). A report will be provided with recommendations.
For a few children who have more complex learning difficulties, as indicated by the results of initial testing, more extensive assessment may be recommended. This will examine any or all of maths ability, oral language, listening and co-ordination and will further explore any of the areas in the initial assessment in greater depth.
This assessment is done by the Educational Psychologist.
Tuition:
Literacy or Numeracy Tuition For Children – after school.
Weekly sessions by appointment. 75 minute individual lesson
Handwriting Tuition is also available for children - after school
We provide short holiday tuition during the Lent and Summer holidays for pupils who require intensive teaching and coaching.
Our tuition fees are reasonable.
Continuous Professional Development
Kingscourt Learn Resource also offer and provide professional development courses, seminars and conferences for teachers, parents and other learning support staff.
